Dear friends, I will be performing ghazals and transcreative poems at Joe’s Pub as part of Brooklyn Raga Massive‘s Ragini Festival next week, which is an absolute dream. The compositions—poems by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Mirza Ghalib, and Amir Khusrow set to Hindustani classical music—are so intricate they have taken months for me to learn, and rehearsals have been neverending.
